Monitoring of the ACADEMICA Project in Kazakhstan
On September 12, 2018 at Sh.Ualikhanov Kokshetau State University (Kokshetau) was held monitoring within the project "Accessibility and Harmonization of Higher Education in Central Asia through Curriculum Modernization and Development (ACADEMICA)"- 561553-EPP-1-2015-1-BG-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP. The director of the National Office Erasmus + in Kazakhstan Tasbulatova Sh.U., all Kazakhstan project partners and project coordinator Mariya Monova-Zheleva took part in the monitoring.
The purpose of the monitoring was to evaluate the results of the ACADEMICA project, to familiarize with the actual situation and the impact and sustainability of the project at the institutional and national levels.
During the monitoring, questions were raised on the relevance, impact and sustainability of the project, the effectiveness of implementation, effectiveness and the strategy for disseminating the results of the project. Each of the participants from the universities presented their results and justified their role in the project.
All Kazakhstan partners took part in the monitoring: International Information Technologies University (Almaty), Kazakhstan Association of Engineering Education (Almaty), Kostanay State Pedagogical University (Kostanay), Kokshetau University A.Myrzakhmetov (Kokshetau), Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau State University (Kokshetau). Director of the national office of ERASMUS + in Kazakhstan Sh.Tasbulatova provided the main requirements for the implementation of the international project, noted the need to present the project results in terms of sustainability, relevance and effectiveness of the project.
Grantholder of the ACADEMICA project Mariya Monova-Zheleva presented the main results of the project, described how the project was implemented, strengths and weaknesses, as well as the risks that were observed during the pilot work and training of teachers.
The country project coordinator Anuarbek Kakabayev presented the project relevance and significance at the national, institutional and individual level. Shaizada Tasbulatova asked monitoring participants about the personal participation and usefulness of the project results for each member of the team. The positive results of the project were expressed in a dialogue:
- teaching professionally-oriented English language for teachers, who participated in the modernization of educational disciplines;
- a training seminar on the development of E- course modules "ACADEMICA";
- the actual modernization of training courses;
- constant questioning of the participants of the experiment,
- drawing up reports on the results of experimental work;
- active participation of employers in the project;
- the application of methods and technologies of training, which were used in the modernization of training courses.
The academic coordinator Aisulu Shayakhmetova provided information about the effectiveness of the project, the strong sides of the project and qualitative changes that occurred to the trainees at the stages of experimental work.
The sustainability of the project, in the opinion of the team, is demonstrated by the possibility of further modernization of the training courses, the content of which has been included in the educational program of engineering and technical specialties, and the creation of a compendium.
Based on the results of the monitoring, the director of the National Office of Erasmus + Shaizada Tasbulatova expressed her comments, which were noted by all monitoring participants.
