Presentation of ACADEMICA Project at the EU Projects Exhibition - a part of the celebration of the Europe Day in Kazakhstan
On May 31, the Delegation of the European Union held the Exhibition of European Union Projects as part of the celebration of Europe Day in 2017 at the Astana Ballet Theater.
The Delegation of the European Union to Kazakhstan annually celebrates this event since 1999 by carrying out a set of events in the field of cultural development of the member states of the European Union, European education and cooperation between the European Union and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Their close partnership between the European Union and Kazakhstan began immediately after the country gained independence. On February 2, 1993, the two sides signed an agreement on establishing diplomatic relations between the EU and Kazakhstan in such areas as trade, economy, energy, transport and the environment. It is also significant that today the European Union is the largest foreign investor and trading partner of Kazakhstan. The EU also invests in projects for young people, in the areas of education, research and the development of civil society.
The foyer of the theater contained only a small part of international projects that were presented by universities of Kazakhstan, various organizations that were involved in the active work of the programs of the European Union Tempus and Erasmus +.
The exhibition was opened by the representative of the European Union in Kazakhstan Traian Laurentiu Hristea, who voiced the importance of cooperation between the EU and Kazakhstan.
The participants of the exhibition were the universities of Kazakhstan, including the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, S. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University, Karaganda State Medical University, Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau State University, M. Dulatov Kostanay engineering and Economic University, S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University, KIMEP University, Astana Medical University, Abai Myrzakhmetov Kokshetau University.
The Fair included such projects as:

·“Licence, Master professionnels pour le développement, l’administration, la gestion, la protection des systèmes et réseaux informatiques dans les entreprises en Moldavie, au Kazakhstan, au Vietnam” (LMPI);
·“Professional network of Master’s degrees in Informatics as a second competence” (PROMIS);
·“Trans-Regional Environmental Awareness for Sustainable Usage of Water Resources” (TREASUREWATER);
·“Implementing a Central Asian Centre for Teaching, Learning and Entrepreneurship” (CACTLE);
·“Applied curricula in space exploration and intelligent robotic systems” (APPLE);
·“Development of two cycle innovative curricula in microelectronic engineering” (DOCMEN);
·“STrengthening Network EdUcaTiOn,Research and Innovation in Environmental HeALth in Asia” (TUTORIAL);
·“Enhancing capacities in implementation of institutional quality assurance systems and typology using bologna process principles” (IQAT);
·“Developing and Implementing Master Programmes for Food Security and Producing and Marketing TRADitional Food PROducts in Russia and Kazakhstan” (TradPro);
·“Strengthening Career Centres in Central Asia Higher Education Institutions to empower graduates in obtaining and creating quality employment” (UNIWORK);
·“Sustainable agriculture and rural development” (SARUD).
Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau State University presented 10 international projects, where our university held various positions, including the country coordinator.
The team of Sh. Ualikhanov KSU presented its projects and the head Zharkynbekov T.N. (the first vice-rector of the university) spoke about how their implementation takes place in the conditions of higher education. Further, Anuarbek Kakabayev, the head of the Center for International Cooperation, Academic Mobility and Multilingual Education, spoke about the role and procedures for carrying out international projects implemented within the framework of the EU programs Tempus and Erasmus + .
The coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan - Sh.U. Tasbulatova highly evaluated the results of the project “Accessibility and Harmonization of Higher Education in Central Asia through Curriculum Modernization and Development” (ACADEMICA).
The training coordinators of the projects Shayakhmetova A.A., Nurmukhanbetova N.N. took part in the exhibition and Shornikova O.N. Work in projects of this level is an important component of the rating of higher education, which makes it possible to compete with the university not only at the national, international but also at the world level in the quality of providing educational services, the scientific knowledge which determines the degree of competitiveness of specialists.
