Samarkand Agricultural Institute was founded in 1929 and now it is one of the largest agrarian higher educational institutions in Central Asia. There are 5 faculties, of Agronomy, Veterinary, Zooengineering, Management in agriculture, and Agro engineering with 16 specialties.
The Institute has trained a lot of highly qualified specialists for different branches of agriculture for the republic of Uzbekistan and other neighboring countries.

The university established in 1955.
